Pattaya is 190 kilometers from central Bangkok but with the opening of the city’s Suvarnabhumi International airport to the south east, the driving time to Pattaya is just over an hour from the airport. Getting to Pattaya is very easy and there are various transport options as follows:-
By Bus: Busses depart from Ekamai (Eastern) Bus Terminal in Bangkok which is located just outside the BTS station of the same name. Services start early in the morning and run until around 23.00. The fare is about 100 baht and the buses are all air-conditioned and comfortable enough for the two and a half hour journey. An alternative is to take a taxi minibus from Bangkok, these depart from the Victory Monument area and leave once the minibus is full (there is at least one departure per hour). Taxi mini busses are slightly more expensive than busses, but with fewer passengers, are more comfortable.
By Taxi: It is possible to take a taxi from anywhere in Bangkok, or directly from Suvarnabhumi airport to get to Pattaya. It is recommended to negotiate a flat fare (approximately THB1,000) for the journey.
By Air: Pattaya's closest airfield is U-Tapao Airport located 30kms south-east of the city operating daily flights to the southern islands of Ko Samui, and Phuket with Bangkok Airways. It is not recommended to fly from Bangkok to Pattaya, as it is quicker to do the journey by road.
By Car: When approaching Pattaya on the main highway from Bangkok (Sukhumvit Road), take the North Pattaya junction (Pattaya Nua Rd.) into town. Follow the road all the way to the Dolphin Roundabout where you turn right onto Naklua Road. After about 800 meters, turn left onto Soi 18 (Soi Wongamat). Follow the road down towards the beach, and View Talay Residence 6 is on the right hand side where the road turns sharply to the right.
