Favourites with visitors include the National Zoological Gardens, slap in the middle of the city along the bank of the Apies River, and the Tswaing crater in the Tswaing Nature Reserve, created by a meteor strike eons ago.
Popular activities include fishing, hunting, golf, tennis and adventure sports such as sky diving and micro-light aircraft.
For nature lovers, the nearby Rietvlei Nature Reserve has small antelope and delightful scenery – a great place for picnics.
