A fine family place, Port Elizabeth has beautiful beaches, great shopping, flea markets, restaurants and activities for young and old. It is also generally reckoned to be the best place in South Africa for water sports. But that is not all.
You can take day trips to game lodges, to the Addo Elephant National Park, Seaview Game & Lion Park and the Kragga Kamma Game Park, or to Jeffrey’s Bay, famous for its impressive scenery and surfing. There are also boat cruises, diving opportunities, a museum and a snake park.
For swimming, fishing, surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling and sailing, head for Algoa Bay, which has 40 kilometres of beaches.
